Amy's place is a drop in center for homeless and at risk youth, located in downtown Bellingham. Amy's Place offers a safe place where exploited and abused youth can get off the streets or away from difficult home situations and receive services and support. In Whatcom County, there is no other agency or church reaching out to these vulnerable children and youth. Amy's Place is the only drop in center successfully providing services, support, and resources to a very difficult to reach population suffering from mental illness and/or chemical dependency. Since the beginning of 2010, 367 different youth have attended Amy's Place. Amy's Place provides clothes and shoes, blankets, sleeping bags, hygiene products, bus tickets, home cooked meals, food items, tutoring, computer access, NA and AA support, resume workshops, job search assistance, organized activities and guidance.
