Recorded 03 August 2007 During my wilderness years I did very little composing or playing... however sometimes I would play around with a song, and here, inspired by life as a programmer at the 3DO company, I came up with this variant on "Spencer the Rover". --- This tune was composed by Spencer the Coder As valiant an engineer as ever left home He had been much producerd which caused great confusion And that was the reason he never went home In the bay near San Francisco he'd been on a project When weary of working he sat down to rest By the foot of yon stairwell lies a snack vending machine When he had the change it all went well With the night fast approaching to his desk he resorted With sleeping bag and pillow his bed for to make But he dreamt of outside lamenting and crying "Go back to your family and coding forsake" 'Twas the fifth day of Noverember a reason to remember When first he arrived home to his family and friends They did stand so astounded, suprised and dumbfounded To see such a stranger once more in their sight And his children they come around him with their pritle-pratlin stories With their pritle-pratlin stories to drive care away And he's as happy as those with thousands of worthless shares Contented he'll remain and not ramble away This tune was composed by Spencer the Coder As valiant an engineer as ever left home He had been much producerd which caused great confusion And that was the reason he never went home

Children's Swing Sets - What Kids Love Tuesday, September 28, 2010
If you have a hectic schedule and can't take your child regularly to the park, then consider purchasing a swing set to fit in your backyard or garden. This will give your kids the freedom to swing whenever they want to without you having to take time off to supervise them at the park.
You get a wide variety of children's swing sets to choose from. They also come with accessories like slides, ladders and miniature forts. Safety is the main concern when it comes to children. Therefore, it is imperative that your swing set is carefully and properly installed.
Picking a suitable spot is very important. Select a shady place and measure the amount of space that you require. A plastic swing set is appropriate for toddlers. However, if your child is a little older, you should consider purchasing a wooden swing set. Plastic is light and not very suitable for heavier children. A wooden swing set on the other hand is more sturdy and cost-effective. A metal one needs regular checks to see if the bolts and fastenings are in place.
While selecting a children's swing set, there are many things that need to be taken into consideration. If you're using your backyard, make sure that you have at least six feet of clear space. That way your child will be protected from banging or bumping into corners or other impediments. Lookout for any jagged or sharp edges as these could seriously injure your child. All structures must be firmly fixed in the ground. If your child is below the age of six years, constant supervision is required. Older children can be left to their own devices but you should check on them regularly.
If you're good at carpentry, you can also try building a swing set for your children. It's not complicated but it also means greater responsibility to make sure that everything is safe, sound and anchored properly.
Whether you buy one or make one, a swing set can always be relied upon as a great source of fun and amusement for your child.
Visit us for more on children's swing sets and plastic swing sets.

What Do Bed Bug Bites Look Like And How To Properly Treat A Bed Bug Bite Saturday, September 25, 2010
Have you woke up and noticed a small bite and wondered where it came from? Maybe you have a bed bug bite or several. How would you know. Let's look at what do bed bugs look like and how to treat a bed bug bite.
A bed bug bite look like a small welt and it can itch or even burn a little. Because they usually happen after dark you usually are asleep. You can not feel a bed bug bite. If you wake up with a red bump that itches or even burns a little you probably got bit by a bed bug.
It can be common to get a bed bug bite while traveling when you are staying in a motel. Bed bug bites can be irritating, but are hardly cause for concern when compared to a mosquito, which can carry Malaria or West Nile disease. You can treat a bed bug bite by washing it with soap and water, apply some ice and use an antihistamine cream or no-itch cream.
If your bite gets tender and starts oozing yellow, white or greenish goo it is probably infected. You should see a doctor and have him treat it for you.
Many people think bed bugs live in areas where it is not clean, but that is not probably the case. Bed bugs are like any animal and like to eat, but it is your blood they want and hotels are convenient because of the number of beds and proximity of drapes to them.
Bed bugs are said to smell like sweet, rotten raspberries, and it's also said that an infested room smells like almonds, but you would need a huge amount of them to even smell them at all. A female bed bug is normally the biter and she can lay up to 500 eggs in her life.
Because they are such good travelers you can take them around the world in a suit case or sleeping bag, which show the importance of even cleaning your luggage after a trip and washing sleeping bags. Hot water is the best way to kill bed bugs.
Bed bugs can live up to one year without eating so it is important to always clean after a trip. In your home if you suspect you have bed bugs you will need to vacuum and wash anything and everything in hot water. Even after that you may want to hire an exterminator to do an even better job.

Starting A Daycare-The Five Little Known Facts Tuesday, September 21, 2010
If you were going to ask your friends, "could you make a living
at doing childcare out of your home?" What do you think they
would say?
Chances are they would say no way, but I'm here to tell you
different. In fact I'm here to educate you as to the vast amount
of potential that lies within this small business. I've always
been a believer in doing the opposite as everyone else. When
you zag I zig.
I've talked to a lot of people out there, some who stay home
and make no money and others who desperately want to
stay home and create some type resemblance of order in their life.
Daycare business is a serious business, it's not babysitting or
taking care of a couple of kids here and there. It's about running
a profitable small business that provides a viable income.
Below you will discover interesting fact's regarding childcare.
Fact #1
It Really Takes No Money To Start Up This Business
I think this has to be one of the few businesses out there that
you can start up for next to nothing. Just think about this for
a minute, maybe you have children's items lying around in your
basement that no one is using. The funny thing is most daycares
utilize the items that around 90% of most households. This would
include, couches, small tables, sleeping bags, and of course T.V
sets. And in case you don't have any toy's and books, you can
always visit the local library and area rummage sales.
Fact #2
Almost Everything is Tax Deductible
Just about everything you use in your house is tax deductible
and I mean just about everything!
You can also think about tax deductible purchases such as that
new couch you bought this year that children sit on, or how about
your cell phone bill that parents call you up on. If a household
expense can some how relate to your childcare business, than you
can write it off.
Fact #3
How Much Money Do DayCare's Really Make?
Here's the real surprise, are you sitting? I made over $90,000
in my daycare last year. Not to shabby, why do you think we
hate being called babysitters? When was the last time
you met a babysitter that made that kind of money?.
Fact #4
Who Is Doing All The Work In The Daycare?
A lot of family daycares employ assistants who help out with
Daycare children. While the assistants are working you are doing
more important things. Perhaps, caring for your own children,
making money at other things, or out just plain out having fun.
I work at my daycare perhaps 5 hours per week which gives
me lot's of time to pursue other adventures.
Fact #5
You Can Start Your Business Today, and Collect Cash Tomorrow
That really the reality of it all, it's easy to find children to enroll
as well. Tell your friends, visit your area schools and churches.
Everyone is looking for good childcare and particularly someone
they can trust. Why not you?
As you can see, day care is a real business. A lot of people out
there are successful and really, are making a lot of money.
Blessings to All,
Christine Groth

Choosing Safe Baby Bottles For Your Infant Sunday, September 19, 2010
If you pay attention to the news and recalls, you will notice that most of the items that are subject to recalls are baby products. This is because people keep a closer eye on things for babies because infants are generally helpless and it is easy for them to get hurt or even worse. Cribs are always being recalled, and so are other sleeping items that come and go on the market. If you want to stay safe with a baby, you have to pay attention to these and discontinue using anything that has been recalled. You also have to make sure you shop right, and always get your infant safe baby bottles to use from day one.
Most of the time, safe baby bottles are the norm. There are very few kinds that have been recalled, if any, but that does not mean you can totally relax. Babies are not only helpless, they also don't understand what is safe and what can hurt them. If you have ever seen a toddler run headlong for a busy parking lot or road, you know how true this is. They won't know if you have gotten safe bottles for them or not. They just want to eat. It is up to you to make sure they are eating safely.
The one rule you should remember when trying to choose safe baby bottles is that anything that is golf ball size or smaller can be a choking hazard for your baby. Though most bottles come with parts (like rings and nipples) that can be hazardous, these are secured before baby eats, and as long as you are putting the bottle together correctly, that alone is not a hazard for your baby. Some bottles, like Dr. Browns, come with more parts, but again, put together correctly these are as safe as the next.
What you do with your bottles is what is going to keep them safe for your baby. You are in charge of making sure you have safe baby bottles in your home. For one, never buy the cheapest bottles and nipples that you can find. This goes for pacifiers as well. Those are the ones that are going to fail the soonest and the ones that could harm your baby. Buy quality bottles. Not only are they safer, they are also going to last longer. Some are designed to lower the amount of air your baby swallows. They are more expensive, and also much safer.
You have to check to make sure you have safe baby bottles. Each and every time you wash them, you have to check things out. Inspect the rings to make sure they have not cracked. If so, toss them out immediately. You should also make sure the bottles are not cracked or chipped if you are using glass. Put your thumb and pointer finger on either side of the top of the nipple, grip tightly, and yank on them. This is to make sure the nipples are not deteriorating. If they fall apart while baby is feeding, they will choke. Tugging firmly on the nipples at each cleaning tells you if they are safe or not. Your pacifiers should pass the same test once a day as well.

Camping in the Costa Tropical, Andalucia Saturday, September 18, 2010
Andalucia is not just a region in Spain but it is a package that offers memorable holidays. This region of the world is known as Costa Tropical and as a tourist you can enjoy the best of everything this region has to offer. There are plenty of adventure activities to satisfy the wandering soul and one of the recently popular activities is camping Imagine spending a night out in the heart of the wilderness in a camp where sleep will be disturbed by the sound of the passing wind or the cacophony of the brotherhood of wolves.
In fact, off late due to the large number of tourists and expats in Andalucia, camping has become more and more popular. The truth is that it has evolved over the years from being a drinking tea from thermos and sleeping in cotton tents to having state-of-the-art individual zipper tents that can help you survive the freezing temperatures of the Sierra Nevada. Today camping is considered a trendy alternative that offers freedom and adventure.
Camping is for the adventure at heart, free-spirited, travelers who like to make their own trails and leave footsteps behind. It is becoming increasingly popular with youngsters because of the numerous possibilities in Costa Tropical. Camping doesn't just mean parking your self in tented accommodation in the forests of Spain or on the edge of a cliff but there are many more facets attached to this activity. Camping will also include everything from preparing meals in a stove to waking up to the sound of birds.
Costa Tropical presents some of the best places for camping because of the spectacular vistas, the stunning landscapes that vary from region to region. You will find camping grounds on the cliff tops, rolling countryside, mountains, close to the river basin, beaches, at the edge of gorges and in the woodlands. Camping is the best way to get up close to nature and the myriad of hues that nature has to offer. This is the cheapest accommodation available but is also considered as one of the best because you can park your tent almost anywhere. Camping is the best option for trekkers and mountaineers who end up travelling to places far from civilization.
Registered camp sites in Andalucia
There are around 200 registered camping sites spread across the length and breadth of Costa Tropical. They have been divided into three categories called the 1st, 2nd and 3rd depending on the facilities available nearby. Most of the camp sites in this region are open in the summers.
The 3rd category of camping grounds normally will have basic amenities like toilets and showers. The 2nd category is a little on the luxurious side and will have a bar, cafeteria, swimming pool and telephone. The 1st category of camping grounds will have everything from money exchange facility to children's play area, and even TV.
In the wild
Apart from the official camping grounds, you can also opt for sleeping in the wild in parts of rural Andalucia. There are several national parks where you can camp although it will be far from a luxurious and comfortable setting. There are some places in the wild where you might need to take prior permission from the authorities. The truth is that there is nothing compared to camping in the wild with the bonfire to keep you warm.
Simon Batchelor is the editor of The Costa Tropical News. The Costa Tropical News is the areas premier magazine for everything related to Spain and the Costa Tropical region of Andalucia. Along with the largest website in the region http://www.costatropicalnews.com, Simon is well placed to extoll the virtues of this undiscovered part of Spain

How to Get Your Baby to Sleep Through the Whole Night Thursday, September 16, 2010
Babies are just adorable when you see them in streets with their mothers being peaceful and contempt but being a parent you know that they aren't really like that when it comes to sleeping. One of the main problems with babies is the waking up during the night and I will give you one method that will get your baby to sleep.
One of the main reasons a baby gets tired is because he/she has had a long day. They may have been seeing many new faces, colours, smelling new smells and maybe even crawling around the place (if they can crawl yet) but not every day is the same. Some days a baby will do a lot and will get tired by the end of the day but at other times they will do nothing during the day and get tired later on in the evening and as a parent you cannot let this happen.
Letting a child sleep at different times of the day may be the reason why your baby is waking up during the night. What you need to do is create a routine! That's right, create a nice simple routine that you will stick to and soon enough your baby will follow.
Here is a sample routine for babies:
- Give them a wash
- Give them something to eat
- Have a nice little cuddle
- Lay them down in their cot with the lights dimmed
- Read them a story/ sing (more important for toddlers)
- Leave them to sleep
This routine is very simple and if you stick with it around the same time every night your baby will get used to it.
Getting your baby to fall asleep at a certain time is a step that you need to know on how to get your baby to sleep through the night.
If your baby unfortunately keeps waking up during the night there are a number of things you can do and you can find them on my website at MakeMyBabySleep which has over 20+ methods to get your baby to sleep and one of them will work for you! Alternatively you can check out more information on how to get baby to sleep through the night

Diaper Bags - Some Things Never Change Saturday, September 11, 2010
So many things have changed over the years sometimes it is hard to recognize items that at one time played such a prominent role. The public has become used to smaller and more efficient things that once were large and cumbersome. Diaper bags, however, are an example of something that has not changed all that much and they are still absolutely necessary if one is going to be a successful parent. Successful is a relative term, in this case it means that if a parent does not want to strike out before they even have a chance to begin, they better have the diaper bags with them wherever they go.
Diaper bags are so necessary to parent life that during the time of raising children they become part of the family. They actually take on a personality all their own. They can be a trusted companion in difficult times when one knows that everything needed in any time of emergency or trial can be found in the diaper bag. It is important to know that it is not the source of comfort to the child. He couldn't really care less. All he understands is eating, sleeping, and doing what results in the need for diapers being a major part of the diaper bag stash.
Diaper bags have to be equipped with a strap that is secure and strong. The bag can weigh as much as forty pounds when everything is contained within that is required by the infant. Every parent knows that having more of everything is necessary for a steady frame of mind when the family is away from home. The strap will save the parent from having to carry the diaper bag like a brief case. In addition, there is a kind of community that takes place when people see diaper bags. They have a sense of well-being by seeing diaper bags along life's journey. They just know that good things are happening.
Of course, diaper bags must be fully equipped. Baby powder is something that is often overlooked and is sometimes not used at all. This is a mistake, to be sure. Wetness is the enemy of comfort for all babies. The diaper bag must include the finest talc to guarantee a quiet and restful infant. Diaper bags are a part of life that will never go away like so many other things. There should be a monument to the faithful and lowly diaper bag.

Regret ep. 2 Wednesday, September 8, 2010
10 comments! :) ________________ Later That Day.... Selena fell asleep in her lifegaurds stand. Which was probably not a good thing for the lifequard to be sleeping on the job. "Boo" Joe said as he jumped in her face. Selena didn't move. He shook her until he she woke up. "Whoa what are you doing" Selena said when she opened her eyes. "Joey who is this" the blonde girl from earlier said in a snotty voice "Uh Tay this is Selena" Joe said giving her the be-nice-or-else look. "Hi" Selena said nicely "Uhh hi" Taylor said in that stuck up tone. Basically she always talked like that. Joe sat down "So fun job huh?" he laughed teasing her. Selena groaned "You have no idea" "Actually I do. I work her too I just have today off" Joe said Taylor looked at her watch, she was annoyed "Joey can we go!" "Geez Tay. Cool it" Joe said, he was so laid back unlike her "Fine then I'll be over there tanning!" Taylor said stomping off. "Wow" Selena said under her breath "I know she can be a brat sometimes but she's really sweet too" Joe said trying to make it seem like being Taylor's boyfriend was fun. "Mhm. I bet" Selena said unconvincingly "So do you work again tomorrow" Joe asked. "Yup. All I get is weekends off " Selena said "Why are you here all summer anyway?" Joe said like it was some huge secret "My moms making me spend all summer with my dad" She said. "So no chance of you staying here for the school here" Joe said smiling. He was such an obvious flirt. "You wish" she laughed and smiled ...

Autism: Zach's sleeping bag trick & deep pressure Tuesday, September 7, 2010
Zach is autistic and enjoys using his imagination. Like many autistic children, he likes to have deep pressure: being hugged tightly, being in enclosed spaces, being weighted down by things, rolling up in blankets, etc. He has a favorite sleeping bag that he sleeps with at night, curled up into and barely the top of his heads shows out of it. He recently figured out that he could roll himself up into it and keep on rolling on the floor. Of course, he also loves bugs. LOVES THEM. So, you'll see some at the end of this video. They're his pill bugs, which he calls Doo-de-doo bugs. Read more about autism and our life at zachsworld.typepad.com

Baby and Toddlers Clothes - The Evolution of Children's Clothing Monday, September 6, 2010
Children's clothing evolved as with all the things that are now present today.
From the beginning, children's' clothing used color to separate the genders. Especially in the olden days where little boys looked like little girls, the distinction can be made by the color of the clothes. Girls wore pink and little boys wore blue, this is as much true today as it is in the era of days gone by.
Because of historical accounts available like painting and photographs, it was not easily distinguished if a child was male or female. Thus, not only do the clothes determined the gender but the general appearance as well. This was manifested by the hair style that they were told to wear. It became a strong convention that little girls wear pretty dresses and their hair long while the little boys were told to wear the pants and sport short hair. However due to the evolution of time, little girls of today have adopted to wearing pants but the day hasn't come yet where the boys adopted the dresses of girls!
In our modern world today, a general convention exists that girls are able to wear the clothes of boys but never the other way around. But that wasn't the case in the 19th century where little girls and boys were dressed alike. Although during that time, girls were not allowed to dress in pants, otherwise, there was not much difference in the way they were dressed.
Up to the time of the second world war, clothes associated with girls were dresses, pantalets, smocks and pinafores.
Dresses
This was the basic clothing of girls up to the second world war since it was not everyday occurrence that girls wore pants or shorts before the war.
Bloomers
This was another staple in the little girls' clothing where it served its purpose of
providing an alternative option to the restrictive and binding fashion sense during the 19th century. This can be attributed to Amelia Bloomer born 1818 - 1894 who was an American reformer espousing this cause. But the bloomer concept must be credited to Elizabeth Smith Miller as she was creator of the bloomers. Although this type of garment did not bloom at all.
Rompers
These were worn both by the girls and boys that were used primarily for play time. By the end of the second world war, rompers were basic staples for little girls wardrobe. They were usually used as costumes or uniforms for gym classes of girls.
Smocks
This is one generic children's clothing of years gone by. As this was so common, different styles, accessories, adornments, and other details filled the repertoire of how a smock can look like. There were smocks of different colors, smocks with different buttoning styles - buttons located at the back, in the front, or on the side. There were also smocks with collars, with trims, with ties, with pockets, with belts, etc. It was usual in the 1950s that smocks of identical cut were bought by mothers for their children.
Pinafores
This was a very essential piece of garment for the girls' wardrobe as they were usually worn by little girls of Europe and America.
Pantalets
These were worn both by boys and girls. Usually, boys wore plain pantalets while girls wore the fancier ones. But there were some boys who like to wear fancy Pantalets too.
Sailor suits
This was basically a boy's garment but it became a unisex garment as girls started to wear sailor suits too.
